How to play .mkv files on your Playstation 3

Couple day ago I’ve downloaded some movie from internet which I’ve wanted to stream to my Playstation 3, but when I extracted the rar file i saw that the movie extension was .mkv. Since watching mkv on Playstation 3 is impossible, it’s not impossible to convert .mkv extension to avi or mpg. Basically what you have to do is to download MKV2VOB, open the app and select which file you want to convert and where to save it.
